SLAVKO TOTEV

SlavkoChef Totev hails from the Balkans where he spent summers on his grandparents’ farm, learning how to create meals solely from family crops, prepared with oil and spices from local vendors.

Since his arrival in the United States in 2001, Totev has built street cred with his ability to create elegant concoctions from simple, fresh ingredients. After a decade as a bike messenger, he changed careers to something just as dynamic and fun when he brought his culinary skills to D.C. kitchens, studying under some of the city’s top chefs.

Totev graduated top of his class at L’Academie de Cuisine in 2014.
